Pros
Holidays are good… as they are in all education jobs. The Actual workforce are lovely people
Cons
Micromanagement Central. Will promise the earth and deliver absolutely nothing! ‘Leave it with me’ is a phrase you will hear over and over again. Shame when you ‘leave things with them’ they don’t actually do anything!! Endless meeting that could’ve been emails. Endless Emails that could be a quick conversations. Focus is on the Management looking after the Management. Mostly covering up their incompetence. All other staff are over worked and completely under appreciated. They will give you a timetable of break times.. but you can ignore them though, because you will never get to take them! No progression is available to anyone under middle management level, but they are more than happy to keep delegating additional responsibilities to your role, with no reward (additional responsibilities being parts of the jobs the management are being paid to do!) They are dreadfully understaffed… which I now understand is because as soon as you are in there, you find out how the place Really works and you will want to leave! Staff Turnover level is disgraceful to the point it’s embarrassing. The general atmosphere is miserable. Any enthusiasm you arrive with for your position within the company will be drained out of you faster than you can imagine. I would estimate (from conversations) in the region 80% of the current staff are job searching. The other 20% are already working their notice. The majority of students describe the place as being like a prison. Apart from the food, I’d have to completely agree! Have never come across such a shambles of an organisation. I feel for the children who have been enrolled here, they deserve better.
