Pros

Great place to learn the basics of a full service restaurant. If you already have that experience there still may be something to learn. Your are allotted plenty of time to dive in to working your unit and fixing all the communication and internal issues. Area Director's don't mind if the GM works well over 60 hours a week and is available to run to the store on their day off to put out fires".

Cons

During initial hire, GM's sign many things, one is a contract which specifically says you will have "work & life balance" with "two-days off in a row every week". Unfortunately it is more and more clear within a few months that this is pulp fiction. ACG Texas - IHOP demonstrated that it's existing Regional Directors an HR Staff are under-skilled at screening and onboarding qualified MIT candidates. Biggest problem is ACG Texas allows burned out GM's to step down to Asst GM positions which further contributes to the lack of a true Leadership foundation within the structure of it's management teams. They don't care any more about Managing Operating Profits and just do their time and go home.
