Pros
There is a Credit Union spirit and dedication to taking care of their members that you will not find in most for-profit institutions. Their drive is to always make sure the members are the focus and to uphold their values. Since the inception of the Credit Union, they have never had a laid off and are proud of it. It is a very safe place to work with great perks since it is tied to the Airline you receive the same benefits as being an american airlines employee, large company health benefits/non-rev travel/etc without the worry of potential layoffs and bankers hours. Even though they are tied to the airline, it has a very small company feel to it which if that is what you are looking for is a great thing.
Cons
Upward mobility is slow if not stagnant. If you are looking to make internal jumps upwards, your options are very limited. Due to being a non-profit some of the pay scales are not as high if you worked for a for profit company.
