Pros

Failure is an encouraged option.

Cons

Management lacks a basic understanding of television and isn't focused on the bottom line, or it's core audiences. Too concerned about creating their own legacies and fulfilling agendas, they have turned their back on what drives their success. There is a bunch of bad hires at very senior level and their marketing strategies are somewhat simplistic and immature. e.g. Lifetime is female skewed, therefore lets create the Fempire and alienate what other audience we have. Too much focus on Brand in the age of content.

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
