Cons
I’m deeply disappointed with how my employment at 5X was handled. To hire someone, onboard them, and then end their employment within a week, citing "lack of clarity" and management decisions is completely unacceptable. This kind of situation should have been sorted out during the hiring process. It feels like I was brought in without the company even knowing what it needed. If 5X truly wants to build a solid team, both in India and globally, you can’t expect to do it with such disorganization and lack of professionalism. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, especially considering the effort I put into planning things like the offsite, which now seems like a total waste of time. What makes it worse is that my manager ("Head of People and Culture") didn’t even bother to set up a basic intro with the leadership team. Instead of owning her mistakes, I was blamed for things that weren’t in my control. Judging someone’s performance within a week, without even setting clear expectations, is beyond unreasonable. On top of that, the role itself was misrepresented during the interview process. I was told the necessary tools were in place, but I later found out from the HR analyst that most of the processes were still manual. If the goal was to replace the HR analyst, the company should’ve hired someone with the right background instead of bringing in someone more experienced and expecting them to handle basic manual tasks. To the internal team- I strongly urge you to reflect on whether you want to be part of an organization that operates like this. I was hired without any clear plan or vision, only to be let go within a week because of poor management decisions. The so-called "Head of People and Culture" clearly has no understanding of people management, let alone the work ethic to lead the team. The request to create a PMS with identical competencies across all functions shows a lack of understanding of how HR works. You can’t call yourself the "Head of People and Culture" if you don’t understand the basic principles of people management or ethical leadership. She misrepresented the role from the beginning and then tried to apologize as if that would fix everything. This company is playing with people's careers, and I would advise others to think twice before joining a place that doesn’t follow basic professional standards. An apology can’t fix what has been an absolutely chaotic and mismanaged situation. This is a failure on multiple levels, and my experience with 5X has been nothing short of terrible. I won’t be recommending anyone to join the company moving forward.
