The Peter Principle is alive and well here....and in charge! - Senior Associate 3-D Technology Employee Review

-Great employee culture -Can get started with little to no experience -Real ACTUAL chance to move forward in the company -Reimbursement for some certifications -Lower/mid management cares and fights for their people

-Upper Management means well but communicates VERY poorly and has bad organizational skills (cancels company meetings like clockwork almost every time) -Project Management and Executive Leadership tends to not learn lessons between projects or implement new ideas -WAY understaffed

The Franklin HQ is in a beautiful location. VP and CEO are nice, pleasant and seem to be hard-working.

Some context: The company's bread and butter is work done by its field technicians. Looking at the job posting, one would think that the work is technically demanding, requiring an MCSA. The job, however, is not at all technically demanding; it consists mostly of menial labor. It is also from this same labor pool that 3-D Technology source talent for many of the lower functions in HQ. This creates an environment where best practices aren't necessarily followed and overvaluation of rhetoric/loyalty over technical excellence. Example: The company has put in countless man-hours and capital into their proprietary software for less than stellar results. (Note that the scope of the project is something that does not exceed a project you might expect to find in the portfolio of an above-average but not stellar jr. developer.) Much of the failure should be attributed to the fact that the product owner assigned was the sort of person that did not know the difference between agile and waterfall. Stories like this are not uncommon in 3-d. If these stories raise concern, I don't recommend that you work for this company.
