Great compensation for a PhD student, allowing them to afford Zurich's life costs and even save quite some money. Great research facilities and funding opportunities.
Cons
Regulations to protect PhD students are easily overruled by the thesis supervisor's own decisions and HR support. Contracts are temporary and have a relatively short period of notice.
