Good People, Poor Compensation/Appreciation (office jobs - not sales)

Pros

The people you will work with in your respective departments will be great. The office is genuinely a pleasant place to work. Company is well trusted in the industry. You will grow immensely as a professional in the solar industry.

Cons

This company should be used as a stepping stone. They pay significantly less than industry. If you don’t work in the right department you’ll only be criticized and never appreciated or compensated properly. Employee of the month award is reserved for the owners family members and/or a couple select departments. I worked there for multiple years and never saw someone in my department or adjacent departments receive an award or recognition.

Pros

They never missed a direct deposit, even if we were the lowest paid project coordinators in the state.

Cons

Listed as a high stress job, which was correct, but only because the office warfare was ridiculous. My manager's style was screaming and yelling until people did what she wanted. There was basically ongoing rivalry between departments in place of collaboration making everything terrible to get things done. Had several in my office work from home off the clock to keep up with work load and not go into OT.
