Drees & Sommer Response

We are delighted that you had such a positive experience and are sharing your feedback about Drees & Sommer here. Our aim is to offer competitive compensation. That is why we benchmark ourselves against well-known companies in the industry and regularly review our salary structures. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but our programs support our employees’ financial development based on their role and performance. Our partnership-based leadership model enables clear responsibilities and efficient decision-making processes. This provides a strong foundation, especially for employees who enjoy taking ownership and contributing within a structured environment. At the same time, it is particularly important to us that students are given the opportunity to take on responsibility early and gain valuable hands-on experience. In line with our guiding principle “Empowered to create”, our employees are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and actively shape projects. They are integrated as valued members of the team from day one. If there was anything you did not get the chance to mention during your final feedback discussion, it is not too late. We still look forward to hearing from you at: karriere-team@dreso.com. Nikoleta Ikonomidou Career Team

Pros

Recognized as top project management firm in Russia; well-organized with high-quality offices; ready to move immediately onto new projects.

Cons

Unwilling to retain top international members who are earning high salaries (trims costs by hiring Russians at low salaries); converts employees to nice titles with no salary change.

Pros

good atmosphere interesting projects flexible workspace / Home Office possibility

Cons

hard to get to a senior positions salary is not increasing (time: 2021-2024) so much like 2015-2020 it really depends in which team you get too much "show" to the public, employees aren´t the no. 1 priority

Pros

• Generous Leave Policy: A good number of vacation days is provided, which is one of the few perks. • Hybrid Work: There is an option for temporary partial remote work, offering some flexibility. • Scale of Projects: You get to work on very large and prestigious projects that look good on a portfolio.

Cons

• Management & Mentality: Local management lacks deep industry knowledge and treats employees as low-cost "back-office" resources rather than valued professionals. There is a clear "outsourcing center" mentality that undermines the expertise of the local staff. • Compensation vs. Workload: Salaries are kept significantly low and do not reflect the massive workload or the high standards expected by a German multinational. There is a massive gap between the pay/benefits in Greece compared to the headquarters in Germany. • Promotion Criteria: Career progression is not based on merit. It is reserved for those who serve specific interests or those willing to work endless unpaid overtime. • Surface-level Culture: The company organizes team-building events to appear "people-centric," but this is largely performative. In reality, rewards are only verbal, and the focus is on maximizing output while minimizing labor costs.

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback and for taking the time to share your experiences with us. You highlighted many aspects positively that are particularly important to us as an employer, such as our flexible working models, the opportunity for hybrid work, and the chance to contribute to large and renowned projects. We are pleased that you highlighted these aspects of your time at Drees & Sommer. However, we would like to provide some additional context regarding a few of the points you mentioned. Especially when it comes to compensation, direct comparisons between different countries can only be made to a limited extent, as salaries are benchmarked locally while taking the respective market conditions and cost of living into account. Our goal is to create fair and competitive conditions at all locations. Therefore, we benchmark our compensation structures against well-known companies within the industry and review our salary structures regularly. Even though we cannot comment on all of your points in detail, we would like to clarify that the statement that team events are used as a substitute for fair compensation or development opportunities does not reflect the principles of Drees & Sommer. We view team-building and cultural activities as additional voluntary initiatives intended to strengthen collaboration and exchange among colleagues. One example is the traditional New Year’s event in Greece, where a Vassilopita cake is shared as part of the celebration. Although Drees & Sommer is originally a German company, we make a conscious effort to incorporate local traditions and customs for our employees in each country. Our office in Greece was established in 2020 and has been continuously developing ever since. For this reason, open and constructive feedback is especially important to us in order to further improve processes, collaboration, and development opportunities together. If there was anything you did not have the opportunity to address during your final feedback discussion, it is not too late to share constructive criticism. We would be happy to hear from you via email at: karriere-team@dreso.com We wish you all the best for your future. Nikoleta Ikonomidou Career Team
