Pros

20 word minimum? I genuinely have nothing good to write about this company. Let me think. Nope. Nothing.

Cons

Product was great - back in the day. Having raised lots of money the gung-ho attitude would be okay if competitors weren't taking clients away. The CEO's oversized ego and lack of maturity (what a temper) would be forgiveable, but some of the business practices engaged here... Man! Guess ethics just aren't high on the agenda.

Pros

Interesting product, great location in downtown SF, pretty lax culture

Cons

Horrible place for women - executives openly have on-going relationships with admins who they bring along to conferences and tech events. HR org chooses to look the other way and cover up the issues internally and if needed, let go of folks who raise concerns. Overall, complete bro/ frat tone from the top. Lack of diversity, lack of any kind of educational / training for employees. A bit sad to see these issues that are often alluded to in articles and on social media first hand.

Pros

I like working here and don't plan on leaving. I've been here for a couple of years now and have taken on different roles. I've seen good (and some bad) people come and go. I believe I have a good perspective on this company. The positives: 1) The employees really care 2) We are solving a big problem that is finally now getting the attention it deserves 3) Really cool offices 4) Comfy shirts 5) Really like the bi-annual all hands. 6) I personally have learned a great deal

Cons

In the last year or so, the company has really been struggling. Struggling in many areas which has caused major issues across the company. The problems are only getting worse since management is very inexperienced, they run the company like a fraternity and are too into themselves to really care about fixing the problem. The negatives: 1) The bot space has become a commodity and unfortunately there are easier (implementation is a nightmare), less expensive and better solutions out. 2) I really like all the new offices, but is that really the best use of funds? 3) I hate to say this, but there is a lot of interoffice relationships going on. Seems like everyone is sleeping with everyone else. Very distracting and unprofessional. 4) Moral is really, really, really bad. Especially in sales and engineering. I've never heard anyone in engineering say anything good about the CTO and that makes hiring great engineers very hard. 5) Sales are hard to come by. 6) People are leaving and the company has slowed hiring big time. They even let a few recruiters go. Not a good sign. I would say that Distil is the classic valley startup that has first time founders with little to no experience running a company...take on a bunch of money, spend a bunch of money, have a bunch of fun, but never learn (or care) how to actually run your business for long term sustainability. Therefore, the end result is another failed startup. I hope this is not the case, but all signs are pointing that way.
