Pros

Everyone acts super nice and friendly at first. Don't be fooled- they just want to hear you say something wrong or hold something against you.

Cons

The company discriminates against race, sex, and gender and does not give you any warnings if they simply dont like you - so they fire you. VERY quick turnover rate which is caused mostly due to the employee absolutely being miserable doing their job and being slave-driven to reach impossible goals and expectations). No one moves up unless you're a white male.

Pros

-You will work above your job title and obtain experience (if leadership is willing or has time to mentor you) -Some* of the people who work here are willing to help and actually like what they do.

Cons

-This company will pin you against your own coworkers, it's a "every man for themselves" type of culture, you will most likely hate multiple coworkers because of this. -Leadership has negative time to help mentor you or even bother helping you on career growth, so much is expected of every team that no one has time beyond their own position. -Do you prioritize a healthy work/life balance? If so, literally run as fast as you can. The odds of you finding a department or team that doesn't suck the soul out of you is extremely rare. -This company cares only for director positions and above, good luck feeling accomplished or appreciated in any role lower than that :-) -Dexcom's middle name is turn over, people are constantly leaving, getting fired or "re-organized". You'll hear that word a lot here, "re-org". -March is what's called the Dexit, where everyone leaves to go find new, better paying* jobs that actually care about their employees wellbeing. -Don't even get me started on this companies diversity & inclusion...... Don't do it, just don't. Unless you have all the free time in the world and skin as thick as concrete.

Pros

Working at Dexcom gave me an incredible amount of respect and appreciation for my new employer. If anything, working at Dexcom gave an experience I can look back on at any time and say "at least things aren't as bad as they were at Dexcom".

Cons

You will maybe only meet 1 or 2 people actually qualified for their jobs. You will be expected to perform functions way beyond the scope of your job because your direct manager won't have the experience to understand what your job should entail. There are no clear roles and responsibilities. The job description you signed? That means nothing. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion on the product but no one will take responsibility for the outcome of the product. You will be expected to be your own PM, PO, Researcher, Product Designer, and more. Roadmap? What roadmap? Your manager will not mentor you and will not have the ability to help you through any roadblocks in the way. You are on your own. You will (maybe) get one promotion and for years after this be told that you're ungrateful for feeling like you ever deserve more recognition. You will be gaslighted into thinking that all of the product problems are yours to solve and if you only had better skills things wouldn't be such a mess. You will forget that you are a competent, talented individual and your self worth will be demolished.
