The current team culture within the Data Engineering group appears to promote favoritism toward individuals who rely on flattery rather than technical competence and teamwork. Senior members often display a self-focused and ego-driven mindset, prioritizing personal progress over collective success. There is a significant lack of mentorship, collaboration, and team bonding. As a result, employees have experienced minimal skill development, and in some cases, previously acquired technical skills have deteriorated due to repetitive and non-learning work. Team members are frequently required to perform tasks outside their defined roles and responsibilities, along with consistent overtime, which has negatively impacted morale, productivity, and work-life balance. The Reporting Manager appears to be primarily focused on chasing a management role, often at the cost of team development, individual growth, and maintaining a healthy work culture.
