My favorite job I've had in a long time

Pros

- I absolutely love the people. We have so much fun together and enjoy each others' company as people. From hiking outings to happy hours to monthly catered birthday lunches and more, I have never enjoyed working with a group of people more. - It's great to be in a booming industry that is growing exponentially, especially when most other industries seem to be retracting. It's never a dull day, and it's really cool to be on the forefront of one of the most important industries of our time. - I really enjoy the work I do, I've had a lot of autonomy, and I feel like my ideas and work output are valued and respected. I wake up excited to come to work and tackle the day's challenges. - It feels good to be on a winning team. We have consistently smashed our goals, including crazy stretch goals, and we continue to perform. I feel like it's relatively rare to have such a fun but also success-oriented culture, and I think DCB has this on lock.

Cons

- We're growing fast and the market is evolving fast, and sometimes it can feel like whiplash. Working here means you have to be okay with a very fast-paced environment. There is more work than there are hours in the day, and you likely won't ever feel "on top" of everything. I personally thrive in this kind of environment, but I can see this as a con for others. - Because we are a global company headquartered in London with offices teammates in APAC and the Americas, I work strange hours each week, including having 7 am Monday meetings and 9 pm Wednesday meetings. But on the flip side that means I have flex time I can take during the day for personal matters, which comes in handy. It works well for me, but most of my friends think I'm crazy for working such wild hours.

Pros

If you’re looking for an entry point into the data center or tech industry, this is technically one. It gets your foot in the door and gives you exposure to how things operate. You will develop resilience. Not necessarily by design, but you will.

Cons

Micromanagement Olympics. Simple decisions take scenic routes through multiple layers of discussion, alignment, re-alignment, and then alignment about alignment, often landing exactly where they started. Administrative overload. A surprising amount of time is spent on repetitive internal processes rather than meaningful or intellectually engaging work. If you enjoy bureaucracy as a hobby, you will thrive. Inconsistent standards. Expectations around flexibility and accountability appear to vary depending on who you are or which team you are on. Policies feel less like policies and more like suggestions applied selectively. Sales above everything. Revenue growth is the north star. Operational strain, sustainability, and internal capacity often feel secondary. Commitments are made confidently. The downstream impact is delegated accordingly. High turnover presented as growth. The company emphasizes expansion. There is indeed constant movement. Decision paralysis disguised as collaboration. Straightforward calls can take weeks of discussion. Progress often waits for consensus from people who were not initially involved and cannot move forward without it.

Pros

1. If you are starting as an analyst, there are few companies which will give you as much exposure at a senior level to the industry as DC Byte. Putting in 3-5 years on the graduate stream and you can take you pick as to which direction you want to take within the broader data centre sector. 2. Being in an industry which is changing rapidly as the world of tech, you are right at the front of the pack to see the developments as they happen. 3. An emphasis on sharing and owning good ideas and initiatives as part of our core company values. 4. Decent benefits package, annual bonus and hybrid working structure.

Cons

1. Company is constantly evolving and so welcoming this is a must - if you want a job where you don't have to deal with change then this is probably not the company for you.
