Pros

There are not many pros here. Nice office would be about it

Cons

Compensation is well below any industry standard... way below. Although the management states they want to grow, they lack a coordinated direction on how to do it. This is an event production company that clearly lacks experience on how to do their job.

Fair. Advice noted and many years have passed. Our team earns significantly more now than in 2014. Guess we have some direction after all. Thanks for the feedback.

Pros

The majority of employees are a lot of fun to work with, and if you're on the event side of the business you get to travel a lot and see the country

Cons

There are many, many cons to working at Cybis. The owner of the company is an extreme micro manager that cares far more about impressing his clients and giving the illusion that Cybis is a huge multi-million dollar company than his employees. His motto is to under promise and over deliver for the clients, and this often results in him under charging for the work. This causes a trickle down effect of extremely tight budgets, late nights, and over-stressed employees. Cybis hires a lot of young employees right out of school which allows the company to grossly underpay them. The owner expects the world from his employees, but is very quick to yell, scream, and tear down employees in front of others. In the event world, it is common for small mistakes (ones that the audience will never notice) to be made, then those mistakes to be discussed once the event is over. However, if the owner is at an event, he will jump on the com (walkie talkie) and yell at everyone in the middle of the event. This ultimately causes more mistakes because everyone is distracted by his yelling. One of the other reviews says that the owner is "neurotic" and I can't agree more. He is also very hot headed, cocky, and makes promises to his employees that he is unable to keep. While the majority of employees are generally fun to work with, the owner alone makes Cybis a terrible place to work.

Good thoughts. Please pass along www.thinkcybis.com/impress-us to extremely well-qualified candidates. Sorry your Cybis experience was so miserable but how are you doing today as a result?

Pros

Good people; assuming the CEO hasn't chased the rest of them away, despite no one working for the company for more than 3 years (minus the CEO).

Cons

The CEO is a bad micro - manager and unpleasant to work with or have on coms. Doesn't pay overtime hours. High employee turnaround. CEO changes midstream often ; he may not even call himself the CEO anymore. People leave despite supposed offers of more money. He finds ways to fire people instead of pay them. Doesn't learn from his mistakes. Had to take on significant financial responsibility for the company when the CEO failed to appear or bring payment as he promised. A general good company full of good people ruined by one horrible leader in the CEO who will find creative ways to blame everyone else, including clients, for his shortcomings.

No one working for the company? And yet we've been growing for the last decade... I'm certainly not doing it all myself so I think you're grossly out of touch. Bitter for not making the cut as we evolved from full-timer to freelance? Your second-to-last bullet has zero merit. Multiple people on our team are empowered to charge. In special cases where I'm not available, I paypal on same day. I hope you're doing successful and learned from your experience at Cybis!
