Pros

Generally altruistic mission statement, good effort on "decreasing worldsuck". Young, "hip" workforce. Good, fun interoffice vibe, especially if you're on the very liberal end of the political scale.

Cons

The company is bad at keeping track of its employee needs, and things frequently fall through the cracks. Constantly overloaded with work and unrealistic deadlines. Because of his on-line following, the CEO believes everything he touches turns to gold, and he's surrounded by many "yes men". Strong company culture of only speaking with adoration for the boss, in a sort of cult-like way. Company donates huge amounts of money to charities, but many of the lowest-paid employees (especially warehouse workers) aren't provided health insurance, or enough compensation to afford housing in the local area. Disheartening to pay out the nose to rent a small room in a decrepit house, while watching your CEO's Instagram stories from his fancy home studio, or frequent vacations to the lake with his family. For years, new employees show up with stars in their eyes, only to leave the company burnt out and soured on its leaders.

Pros

Mission & values are important across the company, camaraderie in junior employees

Cons

HR responds to feedback and handles accommodation requests extremely poorly, treating employees unnecessarily harshly while hiding behind corporate language to try and justify their behavior. It is deeply disheartening seeing the positive public perception of the company compared to the realities of working here -- low starting salaries with minimal chances for promotion, taking on more projects without explaining why they're necessary or hiring up appropriately, and not holding senior staff to the same standards as junior staff when mistakes are made and need to be corrected.

Pros

The team is full of amazing people, employment includes benefits, great mission.

Cons

Low pay for the industry and for the city of Missoula and poor management. Management is hostile and condescending when you express questions or concerns. Many employees are frequently working late into the night to make deadlines. To try to alleviate the workload, management decided to reorganize employees job titles and roles, but did not consult employees before hand or ask them how they felt about their jobs being changed. No training for the new role or workflow was provided after the change. During 14 months of remote work, very little has been done to thank or motivate employees. Career opportunities within the company are very rare.
