Mission-driven. Totally remote. Working towards eliminating homelessness with proven success. Globally recognized.
Cons
Profound lack of transparency and communication from senior leadership, CFO, and COO. Poor organizational structure and data management. Constant and unnecessary urgency. For an organization working towards eliminating homelessness, they pay salaries that cause some staff to be rent burdened. Have unfilled positions for long stretches of time causing inequitable workloads. Hiring consultants instead at six to eight times the salaries of full time staff.
Flexible and remote work. Working toward a mission of ending homelessness.
Cons
Management is unequipped and willfully ignorant on why the team culture and morale has gone downhill. It’s as if senior management lives in a different universe or just chooses to put their heads in the sand and cover their ears. They choose to huddle with themselves and consultants with closed doors instead of listening to front line staff closest to the work and our clients. There is constant unnecessary change. Changes happen from the top down without open and honest communication, collaboration, and rationale.
Great compensation. Lots of perks and stipends. Mission-driven organization; people are mostly fun to talk to.
Cons
Management is isolated, reluctant to listen to their employees and tend to make decisions all by themselves. Some higher-ups like holding information hostage.
Internal communication not transparent/consistent. Lots of uncertainties without regular updates.
"Family" culture means that supervisors may favor certain employees over others depending on their personal relationships. HR policies are not interpreted consistently, causing sense of unfairness among people.
