A mess, might be worth it in a couple years once they fire/replace a handful of detrimental people.
Pros
- independent/self-reliant work - plenty of time for audiobooks
Cons
- company is broke, both financially and organizationally - exec level management is at best completely out of touch with what actually goes on in the company, at worst actively cashing out before it gets put up for sale (they like to claim they're putting it into a social utility trust but let's be realistic) - middle management is good at looking busy while accomplishing absolutely nothing, demands to be respected while constantly embarrassing themselves with their foot in their mouth - broken promise after broken promise - abysmal communication between employees and management, between different departments - taking pride in your work is actively albeit indirectly discouraged, doing 'more' is preferred over doing 'good' It's wild seeing the reviews from several years ago around when I started, the company I joined is a mere memory in what the company is today.
