Pros

My Co Workers were nice.

Cons

I worked as a Night Auditor/ Front Desk Agent for over a year. The hotel was located in Miami Springs at 657 Minola Drive. The hotel was a complete mess. Roach and bed bug infestations, wet carpets and unexplained charges that they would enforce the workers to charge. In my almost 2 years of working there, not once did management or the owners try to fix the unrentable hotel. In the thousands of guests, I checked in and tried to accommodate I got 2 bad reviews with tons of complimentary reviews despite the fact the hotel itself was disgusting. They escalated one bad review after me losing my patience after getting cussed out due to the state of the hotel. I would literally get cussed out by guests nightly. I was getting paid an hourly wage much less than they promised me. I was late less than 5 times and didn't call off once. I asked for a raise, and they gave me a 25-dollar visa gift card. I have worked with Choice Hotels before and had a great experience. The management and owner had no interest in fixing the hotel, nor keeping dedicated hard-working employees. The MOD was supposed to relieve me at 7:00am and she was more than 2 hours late most of the time, then they would get mad at me for getting overtime. I have worked all over the USA in every type of industry imaginable and have never worked for a manager and owner who cared less about their employees.

Pros

Night audit is a great job for people who want to do paperwork and computer work and check in guests.

Cons

My personal experience of cons was management, the training tactics are barging, tricking, and belittling the new employee, I was told by a coworker. One of the 4 housekeepers in front of the boss, told me new employees are victims and she made her cry for two weeks. I personally was verbally attacked for asking clarifying questions, pulling the bangs off my face when she was berating me out of annoyance I was told I remind her "of a damn Yorkie, get a haircut" I have one scheduled I say "not soon enough" my hair is not disheveled enough or distracting enough to be told that. Along with being told I shouldn't be allowed to procreate after tricking me again to train me. Horrible training practicing and I'm always coming in on edge after getting sent home everyday with tasks to do or "homework", and told by my coworker her harassment never stops and we will be left notes to where it seems like she'd screaming at us. I couldn't last even 5 days. No one deserves this mistreatment especially not the housekeeper there with the dying husband she's getting it the worst.
