- Upper Management is atrocious. The lack people skills in a human services industry.
- The upper management at the Long Beach location mistreats their staff in so many ways its hard to keep track.
- A "popularity contest" culture has been created and as a result rather than making decisions that will best benefit our students and/or families, decisions are made to get the proverbial pat on the back by upper management.
- This can been seen simply by reading the positive reviews of the Long Beach location and correlating that with promotions. On July 1, 2018 an employee posted a raving review about how awesome the company is and said the only cons were "negative reviews by disgruntled staff". There's no such thing as a job with no cons so why post that? But being honest was not the goal. The goal was gaining approval to move up in the company.
-There are countless examples of former staff who leave unhappy because of compensation or treatment from upper management because they chose to have a voice and hold upper management accountable.
- Upper Management does whatever is necessary to ensure they don't have to be at work before 9 am, that they can take a 2 hour lunch at 11 am and that they can go home before 4pm. This is an EVERY DAY THING.
- It has gotten so bad that on several occasions meetings that happen at 1pm everyday you will have upper management "Calling in" because they didn't make it back to the Long Beach center on time. It's completely unacceptable.
- Regularly coordinators are overworked which in turn leads to hourly staff being overworked keeping the machine going by completing tasks delegated down to them from upper management. Meanwhile upper management is no where to be found. This is why the turnover is so high.
- The only exception to this is when there are tours, family visits, or company events. Prior to those events upper management will hold "team meetings" and ask for quick pieces of information or highlights about each student so that it can appear like they actually care about the students. Its Sad really.
- Decisions are made with a "business mind" first which means students are left to deal with unnecessary stressors.
- Marketing people will respond to negative posts and say “look at our high parent satisfaction rates” but they fail to realize the criticism of the Long Beach location is strictly for upper management. The hard working coordinators and hourly employees that go above and beyond help boost those results are the real heroes. Unfortunately, the company doesn't place a high value on those individuals.
