High personnel turnover, declining enrollment, senior administration very siloed, employee morale across campus is morose, lack of leadership from management and board.

Staff is undervalued and underpaid, and opportunities for staff advancement are rare; the university would rather hire from outside, and pay more to external candidates than it would to internal ones. Faculty and students rule. Salaries, low to begin with, are not equitable across campus. Health benefit is great but expensive. The university's priorities shift frequently. Trustees tend to overstep and get involved in day-to-day business. Also, the university is top-heavy; lots of captains who are paid well, while lower jobs are held open for extended periods to save money. Compassion is lacking among some senior staff.
