There's no way around it: the company culture is rotten. HR and management take company image pretty seriously, which can be seen from the hilariously over-the-top, glowing reviews added here by the HR cronies every time there has been something negative in other reviews. Accordingly, if you want to do well at Catena, smile a lot and don't ever say anything negative about anything, not even the weather. Cliques are prevalent and some employees even get away with abusive behaviour towards others, because middle managers and team leaders are so incompetent and afraid of criticizing anyone that they'd rather pretend not to notice. Career opportunities in some teams are non-existent.

No real ambition to actually do a good job. HR can not be trusted. Everything you tell them can be used against you. The “fun” guys are more rewarded than the driven, ambitious people. They also don’t do enough to be an equal workplace for men and women. Women cannot be promoted in the organization. They think they have this “one office culture”, but it’s clear that they don’t value people on different floors in the same way. And the company culture is completely different in different departments. It’s also very annoying when you’re hard working and ambitious to see that others are hardly working and still gets by.
