Pros

Nice, new offices located in Frisco Some good colleagues A chance to learn quickly (although that can be a Con too)

Cons

There is an underlying problem with the management of this organization, their quarter to quarter, Restricted Stock and bonus related approach means that Execs typically come and go inside 2-3 years, making little difference and serving only themselves in order to earn their next big payout. Various individuals from some of the largest US banks have been drafted in commanding huge salaries and making zero difference, apart from their considerable salaries' effect on the bottom line. The latest IT structure, from the remnants of Columbus Data Services (CDS), is based on promotion of favorites and friends, with little experience of managing an IT organization that resides on the NASDAQ. Current CIO relies on humor to mask his shortcomings, but his strategy is clear; keep and promote CDS personnel, move out Cardtronics old guard and limit those remaining to bit part positions in the hope they will leave the business so he can bring in someone cheaper, or one of his friends. There is an imbalance in the management to worker ratio; there are more VPs and SVPs than there are people to actually carry out the work, an extremely top-heavy organization that in the last year has lost much its expertise with their core products, whether that be development or operations. Cardtronics was once a fine place to work, with a family feel with morale being high and the job rewarding. Two CIOs later and things are more bleak than ever, despite an impressive new building and the promise of some strong corporate values, the organization is letting its employees down badly. Couple that with a declining market and a lack of diversification, I would not expect much longevity from a career here unless some radical changes come in to play.

Pros

Good benefits, good schedule depending on supervisor and how much butt you kiss.

Cons

Favoritism, unprofessional associates, the place is just ghetto. They've been through 4 CEO's in 18 months? Reactive approach to problems. Closed multiple dept in Houston office and relocated their favorites to Dallas. Do yourself a favor buy a hot dog cart instead of applying here, you'll have less stress and more money in the long run.

Pros

The job itself is interesting. Some of my coworkers were actually worth talking to. And to management's credit, they were willing to listen to problems and complaints from my coworkers and I, but they rarely did anything about it.

Cons

Management basically will double the work load by making a separate group "resolve" active issues, but those issues populate twice in my system as a result of them "resolving" them. I told them about it several times, but I was blown off. Why make your employees work twice as hard when they already have a marathon of work to do each day as it is? No incentives. The only paid holidays are Thanksgiving day and Christmas day. Rarely any OT. No bonus programs. The only reward we get for hard work is a mug or blanket with the Cardtronics logo on it. Really? Giving us presents with your name on it really just feels like you're trying to remind us that you own us. The two main contracted companies that we used caused problems for each other, and consequently, for us. The head guy, the top dog at that Cardtronics branch made excuses to my face for bad service on their part. I was amazed. To sum it all up for all the job seekers, this place reminds me of a joke I heard once. "I saw my boss pull up in a nice sports car. I walked up to him and said, 'Hey boss, nice car!' to which he replied 'If you work hard, stay diligent, and be the best employee you can be, some day I'll be able to afford an even nicer one.'" If that's the kind of mentality you want from an employer, this place is for you.
