Pros

CFM is a human sized company, with great team from various backgrounds and cultures. The company offers a large degree of independence for innovation and possibility for dialogue with management. Salaries are generous and work/life balance is ideal.

Cons

While not really a con, working here can be all consuming and challenging, given the quality of the team.

Pros

- Excellent research team - Collaborative, open culture where you can keep learning - Reasonably low stress for a hedge fund

Cons

- Not suitable if you want your own PnL or do prop trading - Few “easy wins” are left, so work is quite hard and challenging

Pros

Great collaborative culture. Besides, the company trusts its employees and is patient with them when needed

Cons

Hard to find cons. One could though be that the holiday days count is lower than in many other finance companies from Paris

Pros

- Strong open culture, opportunities to learn something new - Smart researchers, large number of PhDs - Stable employment with low risk, possibility to stay onboard for a long time - Excellent early career opportunities, a lot of talent is developed in-house

Cons

- Career advancement to middle management level is highly political, thus some managers are quite poor - Quite conservative about hiring, senior positions are usually filled internally - Some find it difficult to remain competitive if placed in a strong team - Skills of the IT teams are uneven

Pros

Lots of data to tinker with. Proven history of managing data, producing models and bringing value to investors. Open culture where one can easily share with one another, individual contributor or top management. Compensation Package.

Cons

With more than 5 years of working at Cfm, I have seen the company transition from a small size company to a middle size one. What made the company so enjoyable a few years back might fade progressively as more processes and management come in the way. Probably a necessary evil to scale the company.
