Decent company, poor management.

Pros

Owners seem to care about the company and the employees. Executive team is business savvy but not aware of mid-level management politics which will inevitably affect the company in the long run.

Cons

Mid-level management keeps busy playing silly games. Some of them lack elementary management knowledge and skills.

Pros

- excellent salary - nice team members - decent benefits

Cons

- despite a beautifully written and uplifting philosophy on paper, there is a definite mindset of executives vs. non-executives. For example, they have a paved parking lot for executives only, other employees must park in a gravel lot behind the building and not enter through front doors. One time an executive noticed me sitting under a tree on the front lawn at lunch and asked security to remove me from the property - until I proved I was an employee. I understand security, but a lot of their practices and policies made me feel like I was worth less than others. - some offices are located in poorly ventilated areas - one that had no air conditioning the summer I was there; the smells of chemicals and known asbestos in the building were concerning from a health standpoint - absolutely no work-life balance - sick time cannot be used for appointments even if they are medically necessary. This is true of employees who have been there for decades even. If you require time off for an appointment during the day, it is unpaid or you will be asked to use your vacation time. There were some employees that had to use vacation time in order to attend a retirement party for a colleague and others. Not the best environment for people with young families.

Pros

co-workers, location, making friends, social

Cons

low salary, enormous amounts of work stress, toxic management, no direction, layoffs happening each year, bonus never given in full amount - always find a way to short you, people quitting due to incompetent managers
