Pros

I worked at the Calhoun's in Turkey Creek and it is a wonderful place to work. Rob Gobel (general manager) inspires professionalism. A lot of the servers and hostess that work there are working towards their degree, so there is not a lot of burn outs that you would usually find in the restaurant business. Even if the server/hostess staff is not working towards a degree, they either already have one and are job searching or take the job seriously with a professional manner. This place is full of people with ambition. People who do not act professionally usually do not last long. They are really great at working with your schedule and school hours. As a hostess, you get paid minimum wage plus tip outs, so it works out to an average of $10/hour. I have seen servers get promoted to managers several times, I can think of 4 off the top of my head.

Cons

They require you to work some holidays, which is explained in the interview. You also get pick which holidays you do and do not work. I think you are required to work a minimum of 4 holidays (they include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve, New Years day, etc.) But the money you make on holidays is substantial. A server will make way above average and it is super busy on holidays, which makes it worth your while. I would usually celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve with my family and work Christmas day so another person could take Christmas Day off.
