- Assisting the less fortunate - Shelter for the vulnerable sector - Free safeworks/food - Good hearted people (most of them) - Great experience if looking to stay working with the sector.
Cons
- Toxic work culture. Either suck it up, or get fired. - 6th floor is full of numbskulls - 20bucks an hour to see the most traumatizing things you can. Between the 3-5 ODs a shift, the occasional death, broomstick stuck in people's skulls, and rape. you'll leave with ptsd. - Put it this way. the company used to have an in-house psychologist, they got rid of her for to save money.

- difficult and challenging work that will keep you on your feet -you get to put your skills to good use - great co-workers - new management that has instilled a culture change within the agency, all for the better - management that expects you to be creative and not just come to work and do your every day job. - great benefits

- low pay compared to other agencies - lots of traumatic situations to deal with - lots of violence in and around the centre

- really great people work here (except for middle management and senior Management) - you do impact your community

- you aren't paid enough. - there is something cult-y about how much they push culture. If you aren't onboard, you will be fired or let go. - TONS of turnover. - middle management is sensitive and gate keeps. - the directors have bloated salaries...while many of their staff work multiple jobs to make ends meet. - you are working in a traumatic area - it will impact your mental health. - nowhere to move up.

-6th floor (the upper management) doesn't care about you AT ALL. -Doesn't pay a liveable wage. -You will leave the job with PTSD. GUARENTEED. -If you are a manager, you will obtain regular injuries from restraining homicidal clients (including broken bones, concussions, stabbed with needles, etc) -If you are a woman and go on WCB, they will find a way to fire you. If you are a man, they will relocate you. -Very toxic culture - encourages "trauma bonding" with coworkers. -Is basically a cult.

The executives have created a very toxic culture. They only care about themselves and how good they look achieving strategic goals that push employees to burnout. They also treat themselves very well with salary increases when many hard working employees got nothing in 2022. Some of the successes have been good for the clients, but not all. Employees are not heard - this employer is reactive and not proactive when it comes to employee issues.
