Pros

Coworkers are cool and the job is fairly independent.

Cons

Management is terrible and out of touch. Pretends to care about employees by implementing weekly team meetings, but doesn’t actually practice what they preach.

Pros

A bunch of great co-workers. Lots of training resources and an easy interview process. If you're interested in learning this niche trade you can do it here with little to no experience

Cons

Salary: They pay most workers extremely low wages, most of the people I know who worked there made non livable wages especially for the area. Even workers who had been there more than 5 years still made extremely low wages. There are no standard cost of living increases and raises are minimal (even in years where they exceeded their sales goals). Benefits: There aren't any benefits really. After 1 year of working you get 5 days of vacation but considering they close the office for a week around the Holidays you're left with a choice of using the vacation days to cover the closure or using them any other time and going a week without pay during the holidays. There are no holiday bonuses, the only bonuses come in the form of $25-50 gift cards every now and then. No chance at healthcare or anything like that. Even your lunch break is unpaid. Management: Management is a constant source of stress. In my year+ I saw management scream at employees for asking "stupid questions", take retaliatory action against employees for speaking out against Management's unprofessional behavior, threaten to fire employees during company wide meetings for minor infractions and use public company websites to air employees' personal conversations and reprimand them. They ask a lot of their employees with no real benefits or room for growth. In my time there they offered myself and other employees "promotions" that did not come with salary increases. Culture: Company culture includes employees screaming at employees, management screaming at management and management screaming at employees. Morale is usually pretty low as workers are constantly asked to do more for no additional pay or benefits. As I was on my way out several employees expressed that they similarly wished they could leave the company.

Pros

Great co-workers, many who go above and beyond each day and genuinely care about the company despite the horrible management and low morale and pay.

Cons

"Management", and I use the term very loosely - is just the father (CEO) and son (VP). While the CEO is pretty fair in all honestly and is a "people person", its the son (VP) who is the main root of the majority of issues. Constant cursing at his father, at other employees, ignoring employees and sales reps, ignoring customer issues - this is just a very small picture of the vice president of the company, the same person who will be giving you quarterly performance reviews and determine what your pay rate will be. Raises are very few and far in between, and a "promotion" will not come with any such raise. Nearly every position is a dead end and there is no real room for growth. You will be asked to work harder and do more without any increases in compensation or even appreciation. Management is very disorganized and generally has a nonchalant attitude about order deadlines and issues - and only show any true concern if it is a customer that they care about. Majority of orders are severely behind schedule and due to their poor scheduling nothing gets out on time; the sales reps deal with lots of customer anger and issue, to which the VP will ignore. Everything is blamed on the production employee (you). The final part of the problem is that this old school small business is trying to run it as a corporate structure with irrelevant job titles, performance reviews, unnecessary meetings and agendas - which all just adds to the pressures and low morale for everyone else. Hold out for any other job position, you will be treated much more better almost anywhere else!
