Pros

now dont get me wrong Brooks is alright in about three categories, the insurance is absolutely phenomenal, 401k matching is also great and lastly they are understanding and flexible with scheduling and getting time off

Cons

First things first, as someone relatively low on the totem pole I do alot and I mean alot of other peoples jobs who get paid alot more than I do. Secondly, they have these quarterly meetings they make you go to and talk about how much money the company makes, then turns around and gives you a 13 cent raise (exact number) and a pizza party and thinks that's going to make everyone jump for joy, thirdly production people quite literally get treated like second class citizens, they have a party from 12-3, production gets 25 minutes to go out and be a part of the company while everyone in the office stays there for the duration, fourth are you a female? are you easy on the eyes? congratulations! your going to move up quick! under qualified? dont worry you'll do fine. Fifth favorites. favorites. favorites. Sixth there are people who have been working there for 10 years who arent making more than 12 dollars an hour. 12. Seven there have been random times where all the sudden Oops! we somehow dont have any work for an entire shift of people for two weeks so stay home and dont get paid (has happend four times in 4 years)

Pros

The company does have some interesting things to work on. The retirement plan is very good.

Cons

Management shows favoritism to brown-nosing individuals. Contributions and experience are not rewarded. Merit increases are much lower than the industry standard. There are a lot of unmotivated and low performing individuals that are not held accountable. Morale is low.

A Failure of Leadership

Pros

There are some good engineering and technical personnel. Also, there are some good sales, support, marketing and product management personnel.

Cons

There have been several ownership changes in last 15-20 years, and many mid- and senior-level management changes over the last 5-10 years. Executive management is mostly administrators that provide little real leadership. They tend to be secretive, non-transparent and non-communicative. The newly appointed CEO\COO is a bean-counter with no technical or industry experience. Likewise, an executive-level engineering position was recently filled by someone with no relevant technical experience or expertise, no industry experience with customers, and no experience with competitors or competitive products. This executive has become no more than a project supervisor. Executive management has promoted a number of inexperienced and unqualified personnel to management positions. In my time there were numerous smart, experienced, productive professionals that walked out the door because they simply could not tolerate the management. Their IT tools and processes are disparate and archaic, and IT management is underwhelming. Also, the company is located in an undesirable/unattractive region.
