You will have a caseload of over 100 patients which you will see monthly. These patients are low-income and severely mentally ill (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, etc). There is no therapeutic training on how to provide therapy to the patients. No therapeutic modalities are taught. The clinic's sole focus is numbers. You must see 35-40 patients a week. If you fail to meet this number you will be written up as incompetent. The management style is abusive, punitive, and aggressive. The director has favorites, but is disrespectful towards everyone. If she wants you to leave the position she will micro-manage every single action you perform in a daily basis and write you up. She will make your life miserable. This is a caseload that can not be maintained. You are not just responsible for therapy, but all treatment plans, outreach, providing resources, managing patients care while inpatient, and collaborating with outside providers. You will be beyond burnt out. This is a union position, and that is the only positive thing. You will need the union because the director will try to fire you, will insult you, and belittle you. Please don't work here. If you do, please fight for your rights with the union.
