Pros

Staff pass and free access (possible to request ICOM cards from HR and lots of reciprocal entries), networking. Obviously it's great to have the British Museum in your CV if you want to pursue a career in museums or the heritage sector so can be a good first step

Cons

Minimum pay, hours not guaranteed, no meals guaranteed event when working catered events (on the other hand, occasionally get very good meals), Events&Conferencing is a good department to work for but other departments are extremely toxic and "back of house" either ignores or actively disregards "front of house".
