Pros

The plus point of Bekaert was the culture till 2011 or 2012 but after that the culture has changed. The technological competence is good in Bekaert. The exposure to different filed is also appreciable. Employee safety is one of the best

Cons

The worst part is Job security (this exists everywhere because of market dependency); I know few cases where people were recruited and then terminated because of bad planning or estimation of market scenario by management authorities. In that topic I feel, Bekaert has not been fair with them. The work expectation are really high and its okay to have them high but the criteria of evaluation should not be changed frequently. The statements mentioned above are valid for only few cases, however on the other note, Bekaert has helped many individuals to excel their careers including me. Overall, I was happy to work with Bekaert... Every company has some cons like wise Bekaert as well... But, In general It is good company to work with compared to others.

Pros

Strong benefits package, interesting work

Cons

The company is having publicized financial issues which has caused a large amount of salaried staff to depart the company, both voluntarily and involuntarily. I quit because I had endured two years of bullying behavior from my manager as well as backstabbing behavior within the team as they tried to win favor with my manager. The final straw was a scolding session by my manager over a minor issue, and he had so much venom that I went back to my desk shaking from what had been said to me; he threatened my position twice. I gave everything I had to the job over the course of a two year period, only to realize the boss I had once admired had no respect for me whatsoever. It was impossible to address any issues involving staff because he either avoided the issue or would criticize me directly as if I didn’t have a right to say anything. I have a medical issue, and I believe there was an effort to get me to quit because my medication was costly, and the company is self-insured. I noticed in their listing on a job site for the position that the title has been changed from “Administrator” to “Assistant” which conveys to me that they are trying to get someone in to do the same work who will be expecting a lower rate of pay. In an HR staff that started with 9 employees, there were 5 people that left in a 2 year period. Two sales staff at Corporate were terminated right before I left; a new company manager came in during July, and everyone was worried heads would roll. It is a lot more advantageous for them instigate someone quitting than to eliminate their position, because in that case the person can easily collect unemployment.

Pros

Good people, decent benefits.

Cons

Capped out pay. Stuck on a crap shift of every wed-sat. 4-4am. No raise. No bonuses. No advancement in this place. Loses seniority if you bid on jobs. No family time. Lots of favoritism.
