Pros

Free clothes, makeup, bags and accessories. Fashion Week events and parties. Chelsea location. Loft like office good IT if you need it.

Cons

Lack of diversity and cliquey office behavior. Extremely shady management practices. I have seen people let go without warning and adequate reasoning. Then a week later a new person replaced them meaning the supervisor of the team planned to let the person go the whole time and knew it in advance! The person that was let go was the last one to find out. UNBELIEVABLE. In most corporate agencies this is unheard of due to Human Resources procedures (that are there to protect employees) but since the company is small and HR is nonexistent (literally one person), there isn't anyone to go to for real issues beyond your boss. Low salary as well even for people who have been there for over two years. New title with the same pay. Definitely ask for a higher salary if you have experience because if not they will low ball you. I think it serves its purpose but not a place to grow in and advance up the ladder for that ladder is broken and BPCM won't fix it. If you decide to work there, watch your back and don't trust too many of the employees as mentioned earlier, its cliquey and very fake. Give it time before you show all your cards because their will be any eyes on you. What did it for me was the shady management practices and letting people go without warning and thinking that it's fair.

Pros

- helpful and nice staff - laid back environment - nice big office space with great brands - opportunities to work at events

Cons

They play MAJOR favorites. If you're not the favorite, forget that you'll be doing anything important. You'll be the one unpacking boxes and steaming dresses while the "favorite intern" will work with the AE's closely. Once they have the favorite, no matter how hard you work, it's so hard to prove yourself to be a valuable team member. I kind of think that my time was wasted there, to be honest. Also, the internship is unpaid but they can afford high quality products like natural/organic hand soap and top quality garbage bags. To me, that's so unethical. They can't afford to pay interns but choose to spend money on things they can easily save on. I'm not saying that they need to buy the CVS brand, and I totally get it. Having high quality products must be nice and if I was an employee there, I'd definitely enjoy it, but it's just a matter of ethics and morality, if I'm being frank. Overall, everyday I'd be there, it was basically a slap in the face.

Pros

The company culture is wonderful overall. The team is generally young and there is a sense of camaraderie that's unmatched - it's a fantastic place to meet people and make lifelong friends. Generous PTO and Summer Fridays are great - as long as you can actually afford to travel... Most junior staff members couldn't.

Cons

Firstly, upper management convinces you that their generous PTO is better than a raise - two words: it's not. Especially when your junior staff can neither afford financially nor professionally to take the time off - you're aggressively cornered to find "coverage" when you're out i.e. find an intern to do your job without compensation. Usually, said intern is overworked and poorly treated - I never understood why slightly senior staff couldn't "step down" and cover for their junior during this period of time. Repeated inquiries into pay raises, opportunities for promotion and concerns about company morale by the junior staff were virtually ignored. Junior staff members certainly do get promoted but there's a glass ceiling when it comes to how FAR up you'll get and how much you'll be compensated for your promotion & time at the company. Long hours & commitment to your team and company are not valued - even though I was told ad nauseam how longevity and dedication were so critical to company culture. Obviously, these qualities in an employee were not truly valued because my raises were minimal and bonuses came up measly. BPCM kept several Associate AEs doing the work of an assistant by hiring someone between them and their supervisor effectively stunting their growth at the company - how is one supposed to grow in a role if someone now holds the position they were striving for? On top of that, they won't diversify your role by giving you accounts that allow more responsibility or put you in a different work load level structurally. Lastly, company bonding experiences are few and far between - we had one happy hour and a field day in the past year - despite upper management touting the "BPCM family" phrase.
