Pros

The owners and management of this privately held company recognize that their employees are the strength of the company and treat them accordingly: Compensation is maintained at market competitive (or above) levels as determined by periodic independent reviews; Employees are treated as professionals and are not micro-managed; Employees are provided the tools and support they need to achieve their goals and to grow personally and professionally. The atmosphere was at all times a positive team oriented one. I feel very lucky to have worked my final 20+ years (until retirement) with this company.

Cons

The "underlying business" is a dynamic technology-driven business requiring constant innovation and change. While working in such a business is exciting and rewarding, over the long run, constant change can become tiring when resources are constrained.

This could be a great company if not for a couple of people

Pros

Niche company, plenty of opportunities. Good work environment, flexible hours.

Cons

Mostly maintenance, not much new development. Business dictates direction at the expense of technical expertise. Office politics is counterproductive. Upper management does not listen to IT and tends to make changes overnight that affects everyone for minimal gain. Morale is low.

Dysfunctional organization starting at the top

Pros

Benefits were decent, although we didn't need to use a lot of them. Excellent, well liked customer service center leader. Low turnover in customer service.

Cons

Leadership is misguided, and since this is a family run organization, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Anger management issues beginning at the top and working its way to the employee level. Very unprofessional business environment. Specific experience includes having office items thrown at the wall during meetings. Would not recommend as a place of employment or as a client since they are happy with status quo.
