Company has seemed to fall under a sort of mismanagement.
Poor communication resulted in feedback not being delivered when it matters most. Problems are allowed to fester and magnify before being solved.
My work did not scale up accordingly, rather it felt like I was working backwards from a solid starting point. Responsibilities regressed to where it felt like I was performing the work of an intern.
My work and contributions were not getting done in a timely manner (delayed reviews, odd nitpicks), which hurt my overall performance, and this was not communicated to me.
Limited research opportunities and no real career growth/promotions unless you already have 5+ experience at other companies. This falls under the problem of "we need to you have experience, just not from us" that seems rampant with entry level jobs now.
Work is done via contracts the company needs to build (AIS is a contractor). As of 2025, AIS is a government contractor in Rome, NY, so a security clearance is needed for this position. This itself isn't a problem, but the communication around it is. None of the Business development was communicated to me, which was a sign tough times are approaching the company.
