      I get a regular paycheck - until of course they decide to lay me off.

      Cons

      Layoffs are frequent. People in the company will do "just enough" to get by unnoticed and forces the dwindling hard working employees to pick up the slack. You'll notice the endless cycle of good employees leaving for greener pastures while the slackers are left to fill in the next sucker to be hired. Pay if 20-25% below average.

      There are a few good people left in the company

      The new CEO, CFO, and CMOs are jokes. They are so busy taking pictures of themselves and spending outrages amounts of money on marketing to run the organization. These immature executives will have to keep asking the Equity Partner firm to continue to pour money into the company so they can continue to take pictures and pull down an obscene salary.
