I could go on for days...
-Terrible management.
-High turnover rate.
-Owners don't care about employees. They try to buy employees with snacks but don't offer any real benefits.
-Owners are in the game industry but don't have any passion for it. All they care about is getting $$$ paid, no matter how small it is.
-Forget giving you two-weeks notice, they give you 30 minutes notice at the end of the day Friday after you've worked a long hard day.
-The company is run incorrectly. There is no pre-production or design phase. They just throw a bunch of paper in the air and say "do it the way I imagine it done in my head". So when it's done and the client changes their minds, they make it your fault. Real game companies do pre-production and design to avoid these issues...
-Employees are severely underpaid.
This place is even worse than an intern-mill. I would only recommend this place if you had to choose between working here and working in the porn industry. Even then, it would be a close call because porn stars actually get paid.
Proceed with caution. Even if you use this job as a stepping stone, the game industry is small and most other game companies already know why you're trying to leave AppPartner. Could end up hurting you in the long run.
