The clients are incredible and many of the coworkers genuinely want to see change. Strong sense of justice from many of the people who work there, and very impactful conversations about inequity.
Cons
Struggles with managing the expectations of the homeless care setting in New York City and the needs of the clientele. It was often hard to advocate for clients because of bureaucracy.
Clients are incredible, sweet, deserving of your time and attention
Cons
You will never ever get a raise. The "community" aspect is fake- warm fuzzy feelings are used to manipulate employees into doing extra work without extra pay. Decisions are made top-down by people who do not work with clients and clients suffer from the disconnect.
