Pros

I genuinely enjoy supporting patients and feel my work has a positive impact. The role provides a high level of clinical autonomy and allows me to use my knowledge and judgement. I have developed significant expertise in ADHD prescribing, governance and risk management. I enjoy supporting clinicians and improving patient safety through supervision and quality improvement. There are opportunities to influence clinical standards and service development. There is significant investment in staff, with ongoing access to learning and development amongst the service

Cons

The service is evolving rapidly, meaning processes and responsibilities can evolve also, however this is supported from management very well.

Pros

ADHD-360 has been one of the most rewarding places I have worked. The company genuinely invests in its clinicians, with an exceptional amount of training and professional development that far exceeds anything I experienced in the NHS over a period of 18 years. There are clear opportunities for career progression if you are willing to work hard and demonstrate your abilities, and hard work is recognised and rewarded. The clinical workforce is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. There is always someone available to ask for advice, whether it's a colleague, Clinical Lead or senior clinician, and the culture encourages discussion and learning rather than working in isolation. I've developed enormously as a clinician during my time here and have had opportunities I would never have expected elsewhere. Pay and benefits are extremely competitive, when compared with other similar NHS and private roles, and the organisation has ambitious people who genuinely want to improve ADHD services for patients. The quality of clinical assessment is another real strength. Patients undergo a thorough, evidence-based assessment before a diagnosis of ADHD is made. Decisions are not rushed, and clinicians are encouraged to think critically, explore differential diagnoses, consider co-existing conditions, and ensure the diagnostic criteria are met. The emphasis on safe, robust clinical practice gives confidence that diagnoses are made appropriately and in the patient's best interests.

Cons

The service is extremely busy as with all private and NHS ADHD service providers and therefore demand is high. This can result in high workloads and periods of pressure, though this is no worse than the demand placed on clinicians within the NHS and you are remunerated for this in your basic salary, in my opinion. That said, I have always felt supported when raising concerns, and leadership has been willing to listen and make improvements where possible.

Pros

Hybrid working policy, electric car scheme, CPD development, being able to shape our strategy, the people and the service we provide to those waiting on long wait lists. Being ahead of the game in terms of offerings and being the biggest provider of ADHD assessments. I like that we work closely with the NHS. Other benefits that are handy are discounts.

Cons

No sick pay. A potential downside is the pace and consistently high standards, which can sometimes feel demanding. On the other hand, these expectations help maintain quality and push people to achieve their full potential.
