Its technology heavy books include those in the Mastering, Power Tools, Hidden Power, Essentials, Savvy, Sybex Study Guides series. Sybex publishes about 120 new titles a year and has a backlist of about 450 titles. Its books are translated in over 25 languages and distributed worldwide. The company was founded in 1976 by president Rodnay Zaks. John Wiley & Sons, a publisher of scientific and medical journals, acquired Sybex in 2005.
