About the Job

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience and a passion for prototyping, materials, and process development to support our research and development efforts in our factory. If you love both system engineering and mechanical design AND hands-on prototyping we want to hear from you! At Sparkmate, you’ll be part of a dynamic, flat-hierarchy, and fun team where you’ll work on real-world industrial challenges and help develop breakthrough low-temperature electrolysis technology.

This role is very hands-on, requiring strong mechanical design and integration abilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop prototypes
• Assemble and troubleshoot experimental test setups, key cell components, and mechanical systems
• Operate CNC machines, 3D printers, and other prototyping tools to fabricate parts and iterate designs
• Critically analyze and interpret experimental data, providing insights and recommendations to the team
• Identify, refine, and innovate experimental tools and setups to meet evolving project need
• Manage relationships with vendors and manufacturers
• Manage the mechanical workshop
• Technical support for equipment installation and maintenance

What We’re Looking For

• Skilled in systems engineering and industrial process design
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and fabrication techniques
• Knowledge of materials selection for high-temperature, corrosive environments
• Ability to plan and execute projects independently and drive them to completion
• Proven ability to manage technical projects and communicate super clearly.
• Background in designing factory/industrial scale machineries is a plus

The role is an on-site position as we all work in the lab.
