Assistant Manager (HKTE) Publicity and Marketing – Public Relations
Salary:
HK$47,010 per month
Entry Requirements:
Candidates should have –
(a) a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Public Relations (PR), Communications, Journalism and/or Marketing from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;
(b) a minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience with proven ability and full knowledge in all aspects of public relations, as well as management on project and crisis;
(c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 or above in English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent;
(Note: Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.)
(d) an aggressive and creative business driver with a strong strategic mind;
(e) established working relationship with local media and Hong Kong based Mainland and international media network;
(f) experience in assisting senior management on relationship building and the preparation of presentations/speeches;
(g) excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
(h) solid understanding of government affairs is a plus;
(i) proficiency in the application of common business software (including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Chinese and English word processing

The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of LWB. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours, perform on-call/standby duties and work overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (b) work outdoors occasionally.
Duties:
(a) assisting the Manager in devising and formulating PR strategies and plan, with an aim to promote Hong Kong as the Asia's talent hub and attract outside talents to come and settle in Hong Kong and enrich Hong Kong's talent base;
(b) devising media engagement programs that foster understanding on HKTE’s promotional efforts; and reinforcing the rapport with PR agencies so as to deliver quality PR works;
(c) driving PR programs to enhance awareness of HKTE’s events and activities in Chinese Mainland and overseas markets;
(d) continuously identifying new story angles for alluring talents to choose Hong Kong;
(e) maintaining good relationship with local, Chinese Mainland and overseas correspondents in Hong Kong and continuously pitching Hong Kong stories so as to generate positive publicity for Hong Kong;
(f) managing media inquiries, interview requests and coordinating all PR activities;
(g) preparing editorial works or senior management's participation in different events, creating content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations;
(h) evaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis;
(i) providing immediate response to issues related to HKTE so as to minimise any negative impact on the organisation and Hong Kong's image; and
(j) conducting quality control on all PR programs
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. The contract period will commence on the first date of reporting duty and last up to 31 March 2028. Renewal of contract will be subject to the discretion of the Government.
Fringe Benefits
14 days paid annual leave will be granted to the successful candidate. The eligibility for rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, is in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance. A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the appointee has satisfactorily completed the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.
