ROLE:
As a Tandoor cook, your main responsibility will be mastering the art of Tandoori cooking and producing authentic dishes to delight our guests. You will work closely with the Senior Chefs and collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure the highest standards of taste and presentation. In addition to your culinary skills, you will also play a key role in maintaining kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and inventory management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Master the Tandoori cooking techniques and follow traditional recipes to create flavourful and visually appealing Tandoori dishes.
· Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient preparation and delivery of menu items.
· Develop your expertise in various aspects of Tandoori cuisine and assist in creating new dishes or improving existing ones.
· Receive, handle, and store all ingredients with utmost care and attention to quality and freshness.
· Participate actively in inventory management and minimize wastage to optimize kitchen operations.
· Strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to guarantee the safety and well-being of our guests.
· Play an active role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Tandoori section, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
· Demonstrate proficiency in using and maintaining culinary equipment to ensure its longevity and performance.
· Participate in continuous on-the-job training and skill development to enhance your cooking prowess and contribute to the team's overall growth.
· Provide support in onboarding and welcoming new team members, sharing your knowledge and passion for South Asian cuisine.
· Fulfil any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Chefs to ensure the smooth functioning of the Tandoori section.
EXPERIENCE:
· Passion, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the art of Tandoori cooking.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
· Prior experience in Tandoori cooking and familiarity with traditional Indian cooking techniques are highly desirable.
· Culinary qualifications and formal training in South Asian cuisine are advantageous but not mandatory.
· Fluency in spoken English is preferred to facilitate effective communication within the team and with guests.
