The interview was simple 1 to 1 with a manager. Asked to do a trial shift the same day as my interview. Arrived at trial shift and just told by manager to "walk round and talk to customers" well that's fine by me but there's not much the customer wants to talk about when they are just wanting their food. Got constantly asked if I could take their order which led me to wandering round a busy restaurant trying to find a free person. Then just to get told by other members of staff "that's not my area..." and I am doing this while the customers are looking at me probably wondering why I can't just take their order. I never got told in the first place that there are designated areas to each waiter/waitresses or even explained to who they belonged. All I could do was take plated away and wander around trying to look busy and hope customers don't ask any questions. If I needed help the manager was not in sight, and I had to chase other staff around to ask them a question and mostly they wouldn't explain and just give me a one word answer or say they were "too busy" It felt like I had been there for hours and when I asked the time, turns out I had only been there an hour...that's when I just walked out.

The interview process was very casual and informal, felt like a conversation between 2 people. Questions were about my passion, my past experience dealing with clients and customers. Overall good experience.
