      Designer Interview

      13 Apr 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at reitdesign (New York, NY) in Apr 2023

      Interview

The interviewer had just got out of her workout and was visibly sweaty and disheveled. She didn't seem very interested. She mentioned that someone else typically handles business although shes the owner, and said person was on vacation. Interviewer also mentioned she didn't know what she was supposed to be doing. The job posting made it seem it was a part-time position but it was really a freelance position. She didn't seem to want to admit it was freelance when I asked directly about it. She said she doesn't see the difference in part-time and freelancing. Very small team, it's just the owner, art director and another junior designer. They were looking for someone to come in as a junior designer to support their other part-time junior designers workload. Not the worse interview I've had, but certainly an interesting one.
