I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at iRobot in Nov 2021
Interview
Recruiter>Design director>Senior design director>design team
They build cool stuff, but their people are dull and arrogant. I doubt that they can build good products in this working environment. I am surprised that the vibes that their people gave me are so lifeless and unhappy as they are building some coolest stuff for the world…
Initial phone call with recruiter was discouraging. They confused me with another person, did not ask if I had any questions, and it felt like they were trying to tell me how and where I had experience instead of letting me describe my interest and career goals. It didn’t feel like a two- way street.
It was one of the most rudest interviews I've ever participated in. As I was explaining my work and experience, in the last 5-minutes, he rudely interrupts me to basically tell me why I'm not getting the job because I would be in the same experience as the other current employees in iRobot where they don't know specific skills for the same position I was applying for. He tries to make it sound like my work is good but not good enough for the company and they aren't willing to train and help grow employees who are looking to get into the field. If they didn't like my work and experience from the start, then it would have been better if I never got the video call interview in the first place.
