I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at iPresence
Interview
HR initial standard interview, skills interview and culture fit at the end. The roleplay is during the skills one and was a fun process. HR was quite serious. Questions on the cultural for felt longer than necessary

Interview
After an initial informal telephone chat with a person who looked like he just woke up and dragged out of bed, I was given a very long task involving development of small API using redis, RabbitMQ, phpspec, and behat. Specific project configuration with docker, makefiles and other requests... Write documentation for a manger, tickets for developers and QAs... so something way above the average interview test that looked like they simply wanted someone to do free work for them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and done it. After asking the outcome I was told I the test had not been approved. I did ask for feedback and was simply told other candidates sent more stuff. This was a pointless time consuming process completed with unprofessional staff

Interview
The HR interview went well and it was good and correct. Then they requested an example task to be developed without any libraries/framework except jquery. Yes, in 2020 you read it correctly.
It was the first red flag definitely for me but after what came after this was utter nonsense. Whoever checked the code was clearly in his head. They criticized the purpose of modularity (why not a single file) and not using any tools/libraries, which was requested in the first place.
In short, they questioned their own rules of the project and even the UI which is funny because they gave me that with written: "follow as strict as you can".
Don't work here. They couldn't even follow their own legacy rules and type the feedback correctly.
