      Anonymous employee
      Toronto, ON
      Accepted offer
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ecobee (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2019

      Interview

Talent Acquisition team contacted me a couple of times through LinkedIn inmail for availability throughout a year. When I was finally ready, we decided to move forward. Initially, I talked over the phone with a senior talent acquisition supervisor. It was just casual talk and going over my resume. it was approx 15-20 mins call. Later home assignment was given with two challenges in python/java and one test case writing. I was given two days time to finish the assignment. after successfully completing a challenge was invited for a 2-hour onsite interview. The onsite interview started with a short office tour. Afterward first one hour interview was with a manager and another test developer. it was more or less behavior interview and going over resume. The second hour of the interview was with two test developers. They asked to modify the code of home assignment. it was a very easy task. Finally, at the end of the interview, talent acquisition team member come and asked about the interview process and what's going to happen next. She told me that they will get back me within one-two days with the result but nobody called or send an email with interview status. still, I waited around one week to hear anything from them before sending a follow-up email. I have a suggestion for the talent acquisition team: You should have the courage to tell the candidate that if he/she is not selected. don't keep people hanging.
