      Project Manager (CSM) Interview

      18 Aug 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at cove in Jul 2023

      Interview

Spoke to the initial contact/recruiting member who was helpful and friendly. Let me know about the role, the interview process and was upfront about salary. She was really open and I had a positive experience with her. I was enthusiastically moved to next steps. Spoke to an exec who was distracted and complained about her increased work load because a C-level needed the day off to take care of his sick toddler. She seemed put out about having to leading a townhall for him and once we got to the end of the interview, she let me know that 'so many overqualified people applied for the job' she needed to take a step back, put her head down, 'and really think about the needs of the position and what [they] could get out of the role.' I was really surprised at the lack of professionalism, so I wasn't at all surprised when she promised I'd hear back early the following week and then never heard another word from anyone at the company. Interview process: *30 min prelim chat with recruiter *30 min chat with exec *60 min panel interview with exec, cofounder, and another person *30 min 'coffee chat' with recruiter and another person where I could 'interview them back' *THEN a take-home project where I was expected to create several documents and project plans for a fake project.
