Very professional, I met with the HR team, hiring manager, VP of Engineering and had a technical interview with the team. Everyone I spoke to was great and I felt the process was well suited to the job.

Question 1
Technical round was a system design interview with the team.
I had a conversation with the hiring manager and was told I’d be moving forward to meet the VP. A few days later, I received a rejection with no explanation or acknowledgment of the earlier commitment.
It’s completely fair to reject candidates, but it’s important to align internally and review notes before communicating next steps.
What stood out was the disconnect: during the interview, I was asked how I ensure a strong candidate experience—yet the process itself didn’t reflect that. Clear communication and consistency are baseline expectations, especially for a recruiting-focused role.
I applied online. I interviewed at commonsku (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2026
Interview
First round was Initial Screening with basic screening questions, followed by Hiring Manager Interview including behavioural interview questions that cover role overview, technicals & tools and experience with recent work examples
