The initial interview was conducted by the CEO/president. Honestly, I’m not even sure if that was the only round. It was a brief conversation, mostly about my previous roles and the kind of tasks I handled in other companies. Straight to the point. The CEO asked how my experience could be useful to their team and whether I’d be open to learning, especially since it’s an IT company with its fair share of technicalities and jargon. I said yes, of course. I’m more than willing to learn and apply what I know to support the company in whatever way I can.
After the interview, the CEO asked me to send samples of my previous work. I did—right after the meeting. But I haven’t heard back since. No feedback. No update. And honestly, I don’t know if I ever will.
Maybe nearly a decade of experience in this exact role isn’t enough for them. Or maybe they’re just another company that ghosts applicants.
Either way, the job market in the Philippines is a mess in 2025. I just hope jobseekers like me still find companies willing to trust us again.
